Transformation through Yoga Nidra
The ancient practice of Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation based on both the ancient tantric yogic model of the Koshas (the 5 subtle bodies) and modern neuroscience. It is a unique combination of deep relaxation and alert awareness. Yoga Nidra is an experience that rejuvenates and renews both the physical body and the mind. Yoga Nidra is a quiet practice that heals and transforms.
Yoga Nidra means the Yogi’s sleep. It is a state of relaxed consciousness, which is the result of a guided sequential journey inward to stillness. This deeply healing practice offers an opportunity to release long held perceptions and beliefs that we as humans rely on to make sense of our world.
We are all conditioned in the way we experience our reality by memories and narratives of the past. Within the deep state of Yoga Nidra, we can learn to re-pattern and regulate the nervous system and release and heal subconscious issues related to health, work, stress and relationships resulting in a more conscious
and powerful existence.
In the LEVEL 1 intensive you will learn:
The history and development of Yoga Nidra
Intentions and Visualization and how this shapes the practice
The science of Yoga Nidra- neuroplasticity and
nervous system regulation
Yoga Nidra and Sleep Science
The stages of Yoga Nidra
Understanding the Kosha'a (5 subtle bodies)
Creating Sankalpa (heart felt intention- the juice of the practice!)
Yoga Nidra as a meditative practice
Growing your own practice
Finding your voice, creating a comforting (and safe) environment
Cultivating the qualities of a good teacher
Additional Certification requirements include:
Attending 6 Yoga Nidra Classes (3 with Sheila and 3 with any other Yoga Nidra Teacher)

What Folks are are saying about
Seven SeedsYoga Nidra Training :
“Spending the weekend immersed in Sheila's Yoga Nidra YTT is amazing. Sheila is a fountain of knowledge in her area of expertise, and she shares it with great skill and clarity. I felt deeply rested, totally prepared to teach, and beautifully connected to my sankalpa and to my nidra community. The dance breaks were a blast too!
If you are considering exploring and understanding the very special practice of Yoga Nidra, I highly recommend Sheila and her training.”
~ Heather E (Yoga Teacher, Hamilton ON)
”Sheila has created a wonderful program, thorough info & inspiration packed training course with her Seven Seeds YNTT
Her website videos and preparation work were very informative and great background prep as well as reference as you start out teaching YN or simply to ground your own practice solidly. Her passion and research over the years is apparent and she creates such a loving, safe group learning environment suitable for anyone with an interest in learning more about this incredible practice.
This was one of my favourite continuing education courses ever and as an RMT I've done many!
I highly recommend taking this course with Sheila/Seven Seeds Yoga Nidra .
~ Doris J BA, RMT Toronto
“I have recently completed the Seven Seeds Yoga Nidra Training with Sheila Cullen. As a Clinical Social Worker, I was able to begin offering and facilitating Yoga Nidra to individuals and small groups immediately following the training. The training totally exceeded my expectations and provided a deep and rich understanding of Yoga Nidra not only from a yogic perspective, but also from a current and well researched Neurobiological standpoint. The learning opportunities in the training were a combination of academic and experiential in nature. Resulting in an amazing and well rounded learning experience. Sheila is a warm, well versed, creative and articulate instructor, I would highly recommend this training to other professionals in my field. “
~ Jane EW M.S.W. RSW
“The Seven Seeds Yoga Nidra training was a true game changer for me. It gave me the opportunity to move beyond the experience of a juicy restful nap (Which it is by the way!) and dive in the rich depths and layers that lie underneath the perceived simplicity. Sheila’s background knowledge in science and trauma from a western medicine point of view and her longtime experience as a Yoga /Meditation teacher are the perfect balance for creating a well developed and accessible learning environment. I am an artist and writer so the Yoga Nidra stages that allowed me to use my creative skills were my favourite. I live outside of Toronto where there is no Yoga Nidra so I have been able to offer classes to small groups and we have built a nice little community spreading the message of (as Sheila says) “Radical Rest”. I can’t recommend this training enough. It has changed me and given me great opportunities to connect with my community”.
