Summer Classes: Embrace the Fire Element

As the warmth of summer envelops us, we turn our focus to the Fire element, a symbol of growth, vitality, and connection. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), summer is the season of Fire, and it governs the heart and small intestine, inviting us to expand our energy, spark creativity, and find joy in connection. This season, our classes will honor the Fire element, cultivating balance and alignment with nature’s rhythms.

The Fire Element in Summer:

Yin Organ: Heart
The Heart is the seat of our emotional life, connection, and joy. It governs not only our circulation but also our spirit, guiding us to open our hearts and express love, warmth, and compassion. The summer heat nurtures this expansive energy, inviting a deeper connection to the people and experiences that ignite our inner fire.

Yang Organ: Small Intestine
The Small Intestine helps us differentiate and digest both physical and emotional nourishment. This organ supports clarity, discernment, and decision-making, helping us separate what serves us from what does not. In summer, it’s a time to refine our inner vision, clearing space for fresh, vibrant energy to flow.

What You Can Expect:

Movement & Breathwork
Our summer classes will harness the expansive energy of Fire through dynamic flows, heart-opening postures, and breathwork that elevates both body and spirit. We will use invigorating movement to circulate energy through the body, stoking the inner flame of vitality and joy.

Mindful Practices for the Season
While summer invites fiery energy, it’s important to balance this heat. We will incorporate grounding poses, cooling techniques, and restorative practices to keep the Fire element in harmony, helping to soothe overactive energies and maintain balance within.

Connection & Compassion
As Fire governs compassion, our summer classes will emphasize connection—to our bodies, to each other, and to our greater community. Whether in the studio or online, we will foster a compassionate environment where each individual can explore their personal growth and vitality.
